The Creswell has a rich history, transforming from The Creswell Garage Building in 1920 to The Carnegie Hall Building and was eventually re-purposed in the early 1980's as an office building with a small ground floor diner. The Slyman Group acquired the property in 2007 and made further improvements, attracting office tenants.
In 2014, the 1220 Building was granted historical tax credits and was revamped into 80 apartments. The Slyman Group along with The Dalad Group have joined forces to develop a residential development that pays homage to the historical Playhouse neighborhood while providing cutting-edge modern apartments. The property was named "The Creswell" to honor the history of the property while simultaneously inventing a new modern standard to the downtown residential market.
